The CUET PG 2026 result is out, admissions are being finalised, and a fresh batch of students is quietly asking the same question: when should I start for next year?
The honest answer is now. If NTA follows its usual cycle, the CUET (PG) 2027 registration window opens around December and the exam falls in the first quarter. That leaves roughly seven to eight months — enough time to build genuine conceptual depth, and short enough that a drifting plan will cost you.
What the paper is really testing
CUET PG Economics (paper code COQP10) is a computer-based test conducted by
NTA. As per the official CUET (PG) 2026 Information Bulletin, the test duration
was 90 minutes, with the syllabus published paper-code-wise on the NTA portal.
In the last cycle the Economics paper ran 75 subject-specific questions with
negative marking for wrong answers. Confirm the 2027 question count, marking
scheme, and duration in the official bulletin when it releases — NTA has
revised the CUET PG structure more than once, and this is the single most
common place aspirants rely on outdated blog posts.
What doesn't change much is the substance. The CUET PG
Economics syllabus draws on standard undergraduate ground:
microeconomics, macroeconomics, mathematical methods, statistical methods, and
the Indian economy. That sounds broad. It is. But the paper rewards accuracy
under time pressure, not encyclopedic reading. Ninety minutes for a full
subject paper means roughly a minute per question — you cannot afford to derive
a Slutsky decomposition in the hall. You need to recognise it.
A preparation sequence that works
Build the core, then speed. Spend the first stretch on consumer and
producer theory, market structures, national income, IS-LM, money and
inflation, and the calculus and statistics you'll need to handle them.
Superficial revision of everything beats nothing, but it never survives a
negative-marking paper.
Use PYQs as a diagnostic, not a finale. Past papers tell you which units
NTA keeps returning to and how it phrases traps. Solve them early, not in the
last month.
Then train under the clock. Full-length mocks with negative marking
teach the skill the syllabus can't: deciding, in ten seconds, whether a
question is worth attempting.
Where ArthaPoint fits
ArthaPoint's CUET PG Economics coaching
is built around the same sequence — concept-first lectures, worked PYQ
walkthroughs, and pattern-aligned mock practice. No coaching can guarantee a
rank; your score depends on your effort and that year's competition. What
structured preparation does is remove the guesswork about what to study and
in what order.

classes are taught before you commit.
FAQ — Does ArthaPoint guarantee admission to DSE or JNU?
No. Admission
depends on your CUET PG score, the university's merit list, and that year's
cutoff. ArthaPoint provides preparation, not promises.
FAQ — Is the CUET PG syllabus the same for all universities?
The NTA
syllabus is uniform per paper code. Universities differ in which papers they
accept and in their cutoffs — check each university's brochure.
